Apex is a family owned and operated company and is run by Erik Barvir and Scott Carter. Erik and Scott are natives of Carroll County, Maryland, but took separate paths following high school. These two paths helped to provide knowledge in construction to enable their success today.

Following high school, Erik Barvir started work as a General Construction Assistant, learning the ropes of residential construction. Approximately one year later Erik entered the US Coast Guard, starting a career in the electrical and plumbing field. Over the course of his tour, Erik was in school training or applying his knowledge in the field. As the leading electrician in his department, he received numerous awards for efficiency. The military reinforced his already high standards for work quality that is so very important in construction. Following the Coast Guard, Erik followed his passion of building by obtaining a job as a project manager with a leading home builder on the East Coast. For seven years Erik was a multi-million dollar project manager with hundreds of sub-contractors reporting to him directly. Erik went on to a position in the construction cost analysis department, which taught him the importance of providing accurate estimates. The combination of Erik's warm, enthusiastic personality and his extensive product knowledge drove early business growth. Today, Erik's innate gift for understanding customer needs allows him to quickly turn his clients' desires into drawings and finished products that exceed their expectations. erik
